History
The city Royal Steelworks – Königshütte – was established in 1822 as an independent mining and metallurgical colony around a mine and the Königshütte steelworks, nowadays called Huta Kościuszko – which was launched in 1802. The present state of the old factory complex of Huta is very bad. Most buildings are in danger of collapsing and the whole area is falling into ruin. The power of the relation between form and function, however , prevents treating them
like regular objects to be demolished. This post-industrial establishment was used as a base for developing the idea of presenting artistic creation in a space of very strong aesthetic influence.
Huta Artzine
Huta Artzine is a unique platform created in Flash technology . The architectural objects of Huta Koœciuszko and their interiors were mirrored in a specially prepared virtual space. Therefore, a prototype of authorial interface was created, which gives the possibility of various interactions. The space designed was adopted for the needs of presenting the artistic achievements of the artists who were invited to take part in the project. The first edition of the magazine contains the works of 13 graphicians, painters, sculptors, new media artists and musicians. The works are presented in a close relation to the place that was assigned for them, depending on the character and size of each work, for the needs of their presentation separate spaces were allocated (usually interiors), which were adopted in a way that does not disturb the industrial character of the steelworks.
Form
The presentation is published in 500 copies and located on a mechanical distributor , specially prepared for this purpose – a sculpture designed by Marcin Sipiora (BWS). The object works in urban areas, providing access to the free edition of Huta Artzine. Thus the idea of a new transmission of artistic substance and presentation of creative behaviours was created. The phenomenon para-exhibition like.
