Levitation (2007)

Video performance  Levitation is one of my experiments in the field of performance, where I take up the issue of the limits of the physical potential of a body and human recognition. The idea refers to the ancient Hindu concept of superhuman powers – siddhis, achieved through yoga practice. My interest in this subject comes from personal yoga experience. I have presented the idea of levitation as a metaphorical connection between the space of mind and the cosmic
space, as a product of consciousness. The direct inspiration for the project was the calendar Yoga Art where I took part as a model presenting yoga positions (asans) for the pictures. In the film I have used the same costume and a similar landscape in the area of Krakow.
I have also presented the project in You Tube, where it is completed within the context of other films concerning yoga and numerous internauts' comments.
