Anna Ławrynowicz – born in 1977. She obtainedher dyploma in drawing at prof. Zenon Polus studio at the Institute of Arts at the University of Zielona Góra. After graduating she lived abroad for two years, cooperating with local galleries, such as: Via Kunst in Rotterdam and The Piece of Unique in London (one of the smallest galleries in the world, connected with a Primitif shop). I am standing under the umbrella of the grocer's shop for at least 20 minutes. Finally I make a decision to run this short distance from here to my home. The Armageddon. Deluge. A normal situation, one may say. It is not normal as I am holding a dog and shopping bags in one hand, and a 3-year old having neither an umbrella nor wellingtons in the other. We are all terrified. Mostly the dog. We are in a rush. We are soaking, after only one second of rain. Immediately I take all the responsibility for our emotions. I start to sing at the pedestrian crossing when we fall into a knee-deep paddle. Mia sings along. Even the dog seems to be more cheerful. We are saved. Just home. Just ahead. I am a single mom. But I prefer to call myself an independent mom. Or a SAMA MAMA (SINGLE MOM). I am a SAMA MAMA by choice. I cope with it quite well. One might even say that not much has changed since I am a SAMA MAMA. I can arrange my free time and work time, for richer and for poorer, in sickness and in health. These vows are somehow familiar to me. But this time I am not goingto resign from this that fast. Still, I need help in some situations.

SAMA MAMA is a project presenting a single mother who, being put in a certain situation, becomes divided into two worlds. The one which is real and known, and the unpredictable, unreal black hole of events which is absorbing her. When she loses her mind she also loses her personality, the horizon, her starting point, a comfort of being a woman on high-heels or a small girl in a crinoline dress. The black hole (of a window, a basket or a washing-machine) is a symbol of losing control of life and has a direct influence on what is going on with the rest of the body/life of the SAMA MAMA: it is shaky, out of its depth, it evokes the imminent disaster which is connected with the plight.
