Kamila Gawrońska-Kasperska – a graduate from The Artistic Departament of Zielonogórski University (a dyploma and MA thesis on fashion photography). The second prize winner of the Fashion Designer Awards 2009. A costume designer – she cooperated with the production of such movies as i.a.: Ciemnego pokoju nie trzeba siê baæ (as the 2nd costume designer), Twist and blood, dir. by Kuba Czekaj (costumes), Moja biedna
głowa, dir. by Adrian Panek (costumes). In her work she refers to the knowledge of the history of fashion. However, searching for new structural solutions and experimenting with form and cloth both play an equally important role in the process of design. Currently, she is the second year student of the International School of Costume and Fashion Design in Warsaw.

Metropolis – it is a vision of glamour reaching further than here and now. I consciously avoid any statements here, not wanting to openly determine what the phenomenon is today and who are the modern celebrities.

It is rather a look from a distance, an autonomic proposal which has been inspired by the widely recognized glamour trend. By selective treating of the features which characterize glamour – overdrawn, surrealism, glitter, brilliancy, splendor – I built my own futuristic vision of a glamour woman. She is unfamiliar, alienated, and despite all the charm she has possessed, somehow unapproachable and unreal – a machine-woman.

In this collection I refer to the movie entitled Metropolis directed by Fritz Lang in 1927.
